Written in the Sky

Shortly after moving to Orlando, two years ago, I started noticing a skywriter writing messages in the sky. Every Sunday me and my family would marvel at the powerful messages of hope and praise this pilot would share with the Dr. Phillips area. "Jesus Loves You" was the predominant message week after week and it got me thinking what effect his testifying was having on others, who may not be as secure in their faith. Hence, a song was born!

I have since discoverd that our favorite skywriter in none other than Jerry Stevens at Holy Smoke, Inc. He's a man on a mission. And while his website states:" The sky writer is unimportant! It is all about the message! The message from God is that He Loves You!" I agree it's about the message, but I want to give a little credit, where credit is due. Thanks Jerry for the inspiration! And thank you God for the gift!
Written in the Sky
Music and lyrics by Ken Jameson

A crisp autumn day while the leaves blow away and there are no clouds in the sky
There’s a beautiful girl in a beautiful world, but all she can do is cry
And at her tender age there’s a choice to be made about the life she has inside
And she raises her gaze and is completely amazed to see

Jesus loves you written in the sky
In big white letters floating right before her eyes
And all at once she knew just how she would decide
When she saw Jesus loves you written in the sky

It used to be an occasional thing, just on weekends and just for kicks
Now he’s stealing his grandma’s ring and he’s selling it to pay for his next fix
And he can’t numb the pain and he longs to be clean he just can’t find a reason why
Through the windowpane he spies a man in a plane and sees

Jesus loves you written in the sky
In big white letters floating right before his eyes
And all at once he knew he found his reason why
When he saw Jesus loves you written in the sky

Just a man in a plane, many think he’s insane and they ridicule and question why
What does the man in the plane think he is going to gain by writing letters in the sky?
In their blind prejudice the point that they miss it’s the who and not the why
It is the man in whose name that the man in the plane is writing messages of love in the sky

A girl who is lost and her hearts paid the cost and her spirit has been beaten down
And at her tender age there’s a choice to be made thirty stories above the ground
And she has no doubt it’s the cowards way out she wishes she could tell her Daddy goodbye
And she owes her salvation to a moment’s hesitation when she saw

Jesus loves you written in the sky
In big white letters floating right before her eyes
She opened up her heart and invited him inside
When she saw Jesus loves you written in the sky

Jesus loves you
Jesus loves you
